Marietta Country Club   Banquet Policies

 

Hosting or Sponsoring a Banquet

Members are permitted to host private events in the banquet rooms. Members may also sponsor non-members for private banquet functions.  All members hosting or sponsoring a private event are required to sign a Member’s Agreement.

 

Liability

·         Members/Hosts are responsible for the conduct of event attendees, and for any damages to the Marietta Country Club incurred by the attendees.

·         The Club is not responsible for the loss or damage to any personal property belonging to event attendees, and accepts no responsibility or liability for decorations, furnishings, or equipment not supplied by the Club for this event.

·         The Club does not allow leftover banquet food to be packaged and sent with the host. 

 

Dress Policy
It is the responsibility of the Member/Host to ensure that all guests are aware of and observe the dress code.  Denim of any kind, t-shirts, shorts, athletic wear, and sandals for men, are prohibited in the Clubhouse.

Hours of Operation

  • Breakfast and luncheon banquets may be scheduled at the Club from Tuesday through Sunday.
  • Dinner banquets may be scheduled at the Club from Tuesday through Saturday.
  • Dinner banquets may be held on a Sunday or Monday evening and may be subject to minimums.

 

Deposits and Club Usage Fees

  • A reservation is not guaranteed until both the Member/Host and the Director of Catering have signed the confirmation letter and a deposit has been received.
  • Deposits are non-refundable and will be applied to your final bill.
  • An estimated number of guests is needed to select the room based on capacity and availability.  The Club reserves the right to reassign any function room accordingly if needed.
  •  In order to be exempt from the club usage fee, the function must be personally hosted by a member.
  • Club usage fees will apply to all other guests. The Catering Department will inform you of the fee when confirming your reservation.
  •  An additional fee of $200 will be due if excessive changes are ordered on the event date. 

           
Charges/Payments

  • A 23% service charge plus a 6% state tax will be added to all banquet charges. 
  • Payment is required, one week prior to the day of the event for non-members.  Payment may be made by cashier’s check, money order, credit card or cash.  If paying by personal check, the club must receive payment 10 days in advance. 
  • Members are encouraged to charge their club account. 

 

Menu Requirements

  • Final menu selections must be made at least three weeks prior to the event. 
  • Menu and beverage prices will not be confirmed any earlier than ninety days before a function.  Menu prices are guaranteed for ninety days.
  • Members/Hosts and their guests may not bring or remove food or beverages to or from Club premises. The only exceptions to this regulation are wedding cakes, or other specialty items with advance approval by the Director of Catering.
  • A banquet menu must be selected if your number of guests exceeds twelve.  If your party is less than twelve and you are a member of the club, you are permitted to order a la carte from the dining room menus or dine from the buffet.   An additional charge of $3 per person will apply. 
  • Banquet functions may require a minimum food and beverage charge depending on the day and time of the event.

Bar Policies

  • Any beverages brought into the Club must be pre-approved by Management and a corkage fee will be determined, depending on the item.
  • To protect you, your guests, and the club, alcoholic beverages will not be served to anyone under the legal drinking age who cannot show proper identification when requested to do so.  Anyone appearing to be intoxicated will not be served alcoholic beverages.

 

Guarantees

  • For all other events, the final guaranteed number of guests is due 72 hours prior to the event date.
  • If a final guarantee is not given, the Club will use the original estimated number of guests for preparation and billing purposes.
  • Charges will be based on the final guarantee or the actual number of guests attending the event, whichever is greater.  Should the guarantee increase within 48 hours of the event, a surcharge  for additional guests above the guarantee may apply. 

 Cancellations

If a confirmed event is cancelled by a member/host, there may be charges that are due the Club.  The final decision will be made by the General Manager as to appropriate charges.

  • There may be additional charges if chairs or tables need to be rented for a banquet.  This would apply to seating in excess of 300 people in the ballroom.
  • Chair covers and custom table linens may be ordered for an additional fee.
  • For your convenience, the catering department can arrange to set-up and remove additional decorating items for a fee.
  • The catering office can also assist with centerpieces, ice sculptures and other special details.
